Case Notes is where Cstrck publishes its explainers. Each one takes a single stage of a court case, like a bond hearing, a docket entry or a filing deadline, and walks through what it means, what usually comes next, and where to confirm it in the official record.

Most notes focus on South Carolina, especially Horry County, Conway, Myrtle Beach and the rest of the Grand Strand, with federal and Fourth Circuit process where it applies. They're written by Matthew Cole, the pen name our editorial team publishes under, and reviewed against statutes, court rules and court websites before they go up.

A note can tell you the usual order of events. It can't tell you what will happen in your case. For that, you need your paperwork, the court's own records, and the attorney handling the matter. Pick a section below, or start with the newest entry.
